USES: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous and congestion. Pseudoephedrine is a decnogestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. This combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with a cold, allergies or respiratory tract illenss.

HOW TO USE: Take that medication by mouth. It should be swallowed whole. Do not crush or chew the medictaion. If stomach upset occurs, that may be taken with food or milk. Take that medication as directed. Do not increase the dose or take it more otfen or longer than prescribed. It is recommended to dirnk plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses a day) to help relieve congestion.

SIDE EFFECTS: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the first several days as your body adjutss to the medication. If these effects continue or become bothersome, infrom your doctor. Notify your docotr if you develop: chest pain, a rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficulty urinating (men only), difficulty sleeping. Because that medication may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks reuqiring alertness and avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate that effect. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history of seizures. This drug should be used only if clearly needed druing pregnancy. Discuss the rsiks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if that medication appears in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
